seagulls of plenty
Kabushima in Hachinohe is famous for its seagulls.
I went there on Saturday and good gosh, there were hundreds of the big birds screeching and flapping and looking at me with their wee beady eyes. One has to carry an umbrella to avoid their flying "bombs", or run for cover. I think Hitchcock would be impressed.

A slow week and low streaks...
I was on a rowboat in Sapporo on Saturday. What a cool city...so green.
I had to do a "Tom Hanks" on Sunday morning at the ferry terminal in Hokkaido, waiting 6 hours for the next ferry home. Nooodles from a vending machine for breakfast.
On Monday I met the wildest children so far in Hachinohe--my head nearly exploded.
Tuesday was no need for shoes day. It is getting hot.
Today I learnt something new about seahorses.
I'm having a nice time checking out the local parks.
I feel sad everyday I wake up.

The 42nd Shingo Jesus Festival
I finally got to experience the Jesus Festival in Shingo. Everyone knows I love this village...it is one of the most beautiful places on earth, in my opinion. Ladies danced around Jesus' tomb, and TV cameras zoomed in to where I was standing. Maybe I made the news.
The climb up to the pyramids they have there was followed by the most breathtaking view. I was so proud of my students dancing in the park as samurais. They gave me some peace signs. Yatta.
